He had plenty chance at winning! Just never seemed to be able to do it..... The year Ivanesivic won was his best chance i think! SO many close calls. Former World no 4. Andy ain't there yet.

I remember that year  ranting Goran Ivansonofabitch!!!

I used to love Henman at Wimbledon... I didn't know much about tennis then so I always expected he would get to the second week and when he didn't I would be extremely disappointed.

But I was quite surprised at how quickly I didn't care about Henman once Murray came on the seen Think

Once andy came on to the scene we did not have to follow Henman. (even though I never did)

Well hate is a strong word... surely there isn't much of a difference between hating someone and not standing them?

4th choice... lol

Hate is a strong word yes, but not standing is just hating without the malicious intent.

I love Tim. He's a nice guy and I admire him for keeping his own style and being under so much pressure.

I love watching Tim play, he is my favourite player. He was the one got me interested in tennis when I was 9 years old. A long long time ago.

I don't know much about tennis either and like you, felt, well not disappointed as such, but empty, that there wasn't anyone for me to support in the second week, treating it more like a 'world cup' match, and routing for the country rather than the person, when really I shouldn't have.  Tim plays for himself, as do the other players, at these tournies, and just for their country in Davis Cup and Olympics.  There are other players that I like to watch, it's just that I really like to support 'the home team' when I can.

Same for me, I loved Tim and would cheer him on at Wimbledon as a kid. I remember rushing home from my part-time job at the weekend to see the end of the Ivanisovich match! It was such a shame he didnt make it to the final that year. He was so close!

Murray likes to think he plays for his country out there whether it be Davis Cup or ATP I think... Henman may of felt the same. You are naturally representing your country whether you want to or not Smile
