None of those are anything special so ultimately it will all come down to which Ward turns up.

Wardy has won the first set 7-5. Then the match was promptly suspended due to rain. Hope that doesn't mess up his momentum.

I hope so too! I've got a soft spot for Wardy and amongst other things, he shares his name with my grandfather and an uncle! Very Happy

The rain stopped and Wardy then got broken in his first service game in the second set.

Lodja currently leads 3-2 in the second set but the rain started again and the match got suspended at deuce on Lodja's serve.

Wardy broke back when they returned to the court. Could do with getting some more first serves in.

Wardy's second serve took a battering in that set. One set all now. Come on Wardy!

Wardy wins 7-5 4-6 6-4. Made a bit of a meal of it though. He'll play IƱigo Cervantes in the second round, who had a rather more straightforward win - 6-1 6-1 over Kellovsky who had a wildcard.

Am sure Wardy will be fine next match - qualifiers are always tricky as they are used to the court and surface and bounce and everything

I was on livescore at work keeping my eye on it, sooooo many breaks in that set
