Cynic! It could be that Heather was playing great tennis.
Indeed.

^^Ok, point made.
Sorry Robbie, I didn't realise...
But hey, well done Heather. Azarenka next. No problem

Best win of her career so far.
I'd expect Heather will give a better account of herself on Sunday than she did against Azarenka at the Aussie Open.

Good for her. From clip on radio sounded like she played so well that LS 'imploded'.

I know I'm paranoid. But am I paranoid enough?

Heather oozes talent. Most promising player we have by a mile. Sorry, Laura.

Perhaps our Andy will choose HW if he desires to play mixed doubles at the Olympics instead of Laura. I understand that Andy is torn between playing doubles with Jamie or the mixed.

Shouldn't he let Jamie play mixed as he admitted himself in his post-match interview that Jamie 'gets' mixed dubs in a way that he doesn't? And after all Jamie has won a slam in mixed.

This smacks a bit of favouritism, shouldn't best pair get the chance, which would be Ross and Colin.

Yes perhaps Andy should stick to singles. I'm not sure how it works and from the post-match interview it would seem that he isn't either!

It's a difficult one, maybe Andy could find another doubles partner and let Jamie play in the mixed not just for the olympics. I think the doubles are good for co-ordination and net skills. Yes Colin and Ross are playing very well and should be GB reps. Also agree Nigel that Heather Watson has talent and a great fighting spirit.

As i understand it, there's a reasonable chance of having two men's doubles teams in the Olympics, Stuart Fraser has done a piece about qualification and says "eight places, effectively wild cards, will be allocated by the ITF. Great Britain will be hopeful of receiving one of these places if either Andy and Jamie Murray or Colin Fleming and Ross Hutchins fail to qualify by right".
Also, for mixed doubles: "Rather than entries being done in advance like the other events, entries shall be made by each national association on-site. Players are only eligible for the Mixed Doubles if they are competing in the other events, which means that someone like Jamie Murray could not compete in the mixed if he was not playing in the Men’s Doubles".

Thanks for the clarification Elena - would be great if both pairs were able to play.

Sharapova broke Heather to 6-5 then on serve was very tight game and wound up giving away 3 DFs to let Heather into a tie-break. Heather then went down in the TB but thanks to another DF by Maria and some really good play at the end of the tie-break Heather won 9-7 to take the 1st set.
