Could Henman get it together again at the french open we all know he went to the semi final of french and he wasn't even  feeling well. Its a sad state of affairs for roland garros it really is I hope the grass season will be set alight and we see some spectactular tennis from british players in particular.

Yeah unlikely. Tim is just enjoying his tennis I think. He could spring upsets and plays a good solid game, but once he meets a top 10 or 20 player he's gonna struggle at RG.

Well to be honest, as much as i think john's in a bit of "I can't be arsed with anyone on MW" mood (i have those lol ) There's no need to say "Give up on stupid Henman already".

"I already gave up on Henman. I don;t think he's cut out for it anymore"

"Henman is old and past it"

Or " Give up on stupid Henman already"  - this, unlike the first two, is not just an opinion, but an instruction, aimed at henman fans.

While you might be happy to give up on someone because someone else comes along (glory hunter :P ) a lot of us aren;t and won't. While I don;t think John would have reacted if you;d said either of the first two statements, he did react cause u not only insulted henman, u insulted him as a supporter.

Instructed?

Oh come off it. lol Ya sure. I insulted him.
And it is an opinion. My opinion on what Henman diserves. To be given up on. Its an opinion.

Its a sad state of affairs for roland garros

It's a sad state of affairs for British tennis that we only have 1 player from men's and women's combined who could, within the realistic realms of possibility, reach the first weekend (or perhaps even the 2nd day these days) of a grand slam IMO.
The aforementioned Henman was that player for 10 years, I suppose with the exception of Rusedski for a couple of years at his peak (although he wasn't exactly produced through the British coaching ranks was he?). Andy Murray is now that player (although not so for the French Open due to injury of course). At the current rate, does there appear to anyone coming along to join Murray in the next 10 years?

You can't really predict that. 10 years is too long a time frame because you're looking at 10-12 year olds and there's FAR too many other factors that come in to play. I mean, if you look 10 years ago Jamie Murray was the guy everyone was looking to from that family to come up with the goods. Even 5 years ago all eyes were on Boggo, few people had spotted Andy out there in Spain and those who had certainly didn't expect quite a spectacular rise. We're watching guys like Dan Evans and Graham Dyce but who's to say there isn't some kid just hitting away, getting some good coaching, known only really to the LTA and those in the know who 6-10 years from now could be knocking Andy off that GB no 1 spot. Or even one of the kids just now. Who's to say Graham Dyce won't all of a sudden just get it and come powering up. He's got the right type of people around him. There are too many uncertainties when you're looking at teenagers to pick one out and go he's our next no 1.
