She has just been beaten in straight sets. Heather Watson was beaten in qualifying. It is just serving to show that Murray is tennis in this country.

I did't mean it in that way. Equally without Murray would we have reached the World Group.

Without Evans, Ward, Marray and Flemming we would not have made the WG play offs, so yeah.

Both British ladies have really struggled in 2013 unfortunately after career-best 2012's. Laura has made up for it with a couple of good Slam runs but has been pretty poor throughout all the smaller tournaments. Heather has obviously had injury problems but has since struggled to find her 2012 form.

Jo Konta is in the form of her life though and will break the top 100 very soon. In-fact, she can't be far behind Hev now.

Laura is playing tomorrow 8.30 am approx in the 1st round at Beijing. She plays Zakopalova CZE WR 33 (CH 20 in Apr)

Heather got a wild card, but went out 1st round "She made a storming start but sadly Hev lost 1-6 6-3 6-3 to former top 20 player Varvara Lepchenko USA WR 55 (CH 19 in 2012)"

Thanks as always to Steven ‏@GBtennis

Very winnable for Laura. Zakopalova has been on a spiral these past few months.

Klara Zakopalova. Czech women's no. 2. Been a top player for a number of years. The knowledge of WTA on this site is disgusting.
