Heather now at about 66.

Brilliant! Laura got off to great start racing to 5-1 I think. But Zhou obviously settled a bit and fought back. Laura plays Chang next
Good that Heather and Laura are in opposite sides of the draw!

Anyone else pick up that Laura has the Aussie flag next her name in the Osaka Schedule? Not that I have an issue with that, as it happens, just saying.

51, are you sure?
This
puts her in the top 50 already.

I might be being thick, but why is that? I know she was born there, but she's ours, Australia can't have her lol.

Hi All,
Well done to both our girls, or rather, ladies.
I was a bit worried when I saw the score during Heather's match on the BBC's text service, so I'm glad she got through, and chuffed that Laura is still going well.
Great stuff

I saw a bit of twitter comment amongst tennis journos about that a couple of weeks ago. Someone joked that maybe she's British when she wins, Australian when she loses - or the other way round, can't remember!
It's just a mistake I think. As Ruthie says, Laura has made it clear that she thinks of herself as a Brit.

With journalists Laura is going to have the same sort of nonsense Andy has had to put up with. It might sound like a joke, but I wonder sometimes. God help her when she steps a toe out of line.
Ruthie's right, Laura regards herself as a Brit, and so do I.

I'm absolutely sure it was a joke TJ, I can't remember exactly who said it, but it was one of the tennis specialists who keep us informed of all the Brits' progress.
There are however the idiots on the BBC messageboard who insist that Laura's Australian, but as you said elsewhere, they're just trolls.

Well, as long as it was a joke, that's different.
The trolls on the BBC's website are vile.

I think Laura and Heather will spur each other on to great heights - a genuinely friendly rivalry.
