Golding is stoked about his exho win against Pico.. and why not? Good for him Smile

To be honest, I don't really watch much "Other Brit tennis"... but I do check into this thread, and appreciate everyone's posts.

Wow, Golding.

Not sure how much we can read into that result but still impressive by any means, even if not a competitive match.

That's two big wins in the last few weeks for him now, unfortunately neither of them earned him any ranking points. When he starts doing it in Challenger and ATP events we can really raise expectations of him.

Also shout out to Josh Goodall who won yet another Challenger today, beating Ed Corrie (who's been quite impressive of late, and knocked out Albano Olivetti who reached an ATP QF earlier this year, beating Mardy Fish en-route) in the final.

We wish it was a Challenger. lol It was yet another Futures. And the 3rd straight year he's won that particular Futures event.

Aye was going to put afterwards that if only he could reproduce these results in Challengers, ended up confusing what I was writing and just put it was a challenger. doh God knows why I put that, I knew what I wanted to say.

But yes, yet another *Futures* for Josh.

Jamie Baker seeded 6th in Binghampton this week. Takes on a lucky loser in the 1st round, at 11am US time (4pm here?).

Jamie was a break up but is now a break down in the first set.

Edit: Just broken back. 3-4 down, back on serve.

Jamie takes the first set 7-5.

Jamie now leads 7-5, 2-0.

Five of the Eight seeds in the Doubles in Atlanta 250 this week are British.

Colin and Ross are top seeds, Dom Inglot is 3rd seed with his partner Treat Huey whilst Delgado and Skupski are 4th seeds.

Boggo joins Baker in R2 after taking out the 3rd seed and world #155 Van Der Merwe (who was Baker's potential QF opponent) in straight sets. Surprised

Baker plays a WC in R2, Bogdanovic takes on Michael Yani. The winner of each match squares off in the QF.

Baker through in 3 but Boggo goes down in straights. Baker will take on Michael Yani in the QFs.

Meanwhile in Futures:

Olly Golding is a top seed! In Belgium this week. He's in the QFs after beating the only other two Brits in the tournament (Ashley Hewitt and Jack Carpenter). He takes on a 16yo Aussie Qualifier.

In the GB Futures Goodall (top seed), Evans (3rd seed) and Fitzpatrick (4th seed) all suffered first round defeats. HOWEVER, 7 of the 8 quarter-finalists are British! Corrie, Ward-Hibbert, Hudson, Burn, Slabinsky, Short and Coupland join Marcus Daniell (New Zealand) in the QFs.

A disappointing 0&4 defeat to Michael Yani for Baker. Yani also knocked out Boggo and is now in tomorrow's final. Baker was actually the only seed to even reach the QFs!

Baker (seeded 5) and Boggo playing in another American challenger this week in Lexington.

Olly unfortunately had to retire in his QF after leading 4-2 (went down 4-6, 0-4 before doing so). Not sure what happened to him, but I really hope it's not serious. Huge shame, as he was top seed and looking good for another Futures win.

And interesting that it's he whom Andy chooses to practise with. Saw them practising at Wimbledon and apparently he practised with Andy throughout the tourno.

Bad news for James Ward - fractured his wrist in Newport the other week and will now lose a large chunk of the season, including Vancouver where he is defending 100 points. Will fall down probably around 100 places in the rankings once he loses the points he will not be able to defend. Frown
