Sadly, in Cincinnati 1st round, Nielsen & Marray lost to Kubot & Tipsy, Colin & Ross lost to Cabal & Soares

Two British players playing in the Dutch 10k futures this week (Slabinsky and Golding).

Both have reached the final. Smile

10 points for the loser, 18 for the winner. Great for Olly, who has been struggling a little bit since his very impressive Wimbledon performance. This will lift him back into the top 500 and should beat his previous Career High of #482 (if he wins the final he should shoot up beyond #450).

On a more disappointing note both Brits (Ward and Goodall) went out in QR1 for the USO (Baker didn't play, not sure why). Ward's result was promising though - on his return from injury he took Tursunov (top 50 last year) to three sets. Goodall lost 3&2 to a 21yo Argentine clay-courter (ranked about 30 places below him).

All the Doubles guys have been on a poor run as well. Fleming/Hutchins have struggled to win any matches, Marray/Nielsen haven't won in their three matches since Wimbledon. Huey/Inglot won Washington but have struggled since. These three along with Delgado/Skupski have all been seeded in recent US ATP events but have all struggled to reach the semis.

Another Futures for Dan Evans, beating Josh Milton in the final comfortably.

He should rise back up to around 300 in the world. Steady progress back up the rankings.

James Ward continued his comeback with a QF in Shanghai, before retiring against Yani. Now headed back to the UK to assess his wrist again.

Baker and David Rice both got knocked out in R2 of St. Remy.

Nice to see Brits taking part in Challenger qualifying and main draws this weekend and coming week.

About time Evans started to play to his potential in Futures and get his ranking back up as he is good enough to be competing (and winning matches) at Challengers.

Saying that, I think a few other Brits are in that postition as well. Think

Just some updates yesterday on Andy's SF match thread I think. Good day for the Brits - not scared off by a bit of wind!

Another Futures win for Dan Evans (beating Bloomfield in the Nottingham final) should see him rise back into the top 300 (around 285 ish).

Needs to start playing Challengers again I think to continue making progress back towards the top 200, which is surely where he must see himself.

Luke Bambridge also made the Quarters (losing to Bloomfield) which will earn him another couple of ranking points. He should rise to around 860 in the rankings (100 places up on his current ranking).

Edit: That's wrong ^^ Been looking at the YTD rankings. doh Bambridge will rise into the top 1000, and will be on the same ranking points as Liam Broady.

4th Futures title of the year and 3rd in the last 5 weeks.  And definetely on Challengers now. I also believe that he's aiming to get into the Australian Open qualifying.
