That scoreline is incredible. 265 ranking places between them, and Evans wins 6-4, 6-4, 6-1.

First time in 83 years GB come from 0-2 down to win.

Struggling to comprehend this. Two magnificent performances from Ward and Evans. So much for perennial losers. Came so close on Friday, then they came out today and go one better. Just stunning.

Just shows you rankings can mean nothing Very Happy

A counter puncher like Andy always fights back.

I followed the live-score with one eye. I did not expect the GB  to produce such a turnaround. Yet, in an encounter where you do not merely play for yourself anything can happen. And the difference between the players might not be as big as the rankings suggest. So congratulations to your team.

A very difficult decision, but Leon Smith going with "a gut feeling".

No pressure Dan!

Well done all of them.  Pity they cannot always play pretty much up to this standard.

I have been following it over the weekend on the LTA website. They came close to wining their matches on Friday, but I didn't expect them to pull ot off today. Well done to them all, including the captain. With the differences in ranking between our singles players and theirs thr result should have been a forgone conclusion. They obviously learned from Friday. I enjoyed watching it. Non of the usual stress involved in watching Mr M.

Missed the action today.

Phenomenal win for GB. It can't be understated what an achievement this is, from 0-2 down.

Leon's gut feeling.

Absolutely! A brave decision, tough for Jamie B, but wow!

Loved Dan's interview at the end - is it available? Thanked someone who'd said earlier in the week that he thought an upset was possible "and I believed him". Also, wiping away tears, gave huge credit to James Ward for coming through this afternoon "although, and I don't think he'll mind me saying, it looked unlikely at times" (or something like that). Bless!
