Dusseldorf QFs: Jamie M & John Peers v Colin & Jonny Marray. Dom Inglot also in top half of draw.

Marray's Wimbledon partner Freddie Nielsen is in the other half, already through to the SF and so picking up some doubles points with Andre Sa. His singles career isn't going too well really, getting knocked out in the 1st round of two Challengers qualifying and one Futures tournament in Italy over the last month - which earned him $176. I think he'll drop out of top 500 next week. Maybe time to concentrate on doubles....?

He can't have johnny back though till Ross is fit again !

Oliver Golding-Alexander Ward (GBR) def Marcos Giraldi-Gonzalo Oliveira (ESP/POR) 63 64

Not a really special match tennis-wise, but had some sportmanship issues inside. I have to say I watched all the match and I don´t understand why the Spanish was trying to hit the ball into Golding´s body on purpose. After a few balls like this, the umpire told them to stop it (when Giraldi hit Golding, Oliver told him not to do that again), so Oliver complained to him.

He said, "but he is not even trying to put the ball into the court. He is trying so hard to hit me with the ball." I have to say he was right in this. The umpire told him it was not really important, and asked him to concentrate on the game. When the British players won and left the court, Golding talked to Giraldi and then left.

Then, the man who was with him (I assume he was his coach) told Golding, "F**k you, f**k you, you have a big mouth," very loudly. Golding said, "Me?" almost laughing. And then the player added, "Wait for me outside and let´s see what happens, let´s see if you have balls". The man also shouted "f**k you" more times and similar stuff.

When Golding left to the referee office (to talk to him about this I guess), the player added "Seriously, if I see him outside the club I will split his legs". All this was that loud that the umpire from the court 1 had to tell them to please shut up and behave. Disgusting stuff here on sportmanship.

Nasty Frown
Mind you, was at a football match featuring under 11's and one absolute a*** of a father actually shouted at one of the boys, "If you do that again I'll break your f****** legs."
So in sport, nothing would really surprise me again.

Well after all that Golding won his QF today to make his first SF of the year. Him and Ward play the Doubles final later.

In Nottingham-2 qualifying 18yo Jonny O'Mara (WR1500) and 19yo Josh Ward-Hibbert (WR869) both recorded career-high victories today - taking out Demoliner (WR252) and Moriya (WR198) respectively. Fantastic results.

Dan Cox also beat Dustin Brown (the top seed).

In Queens, Goodall and Baker made QR2 but Goodall just lost 6-7, 6-4, 6-2 and Baker is currently in a first set tie-break with Duckworth.

So many Brits in action today - Queens and Nottingham-2 qualies, whilst Alex Ward (into FQR) and Golding (edged out by Granollers WR290s for the second time this year) in Blois qualies.

Klein, Cox, Broady, O'Mara, Ward-Hibbert, Bloomfield, Coupland, Walters and Butler all into QR2. Pauffley/Fox last QR1 match to be played.

QR2 matches starting now. Broady just taken first set 6-3 v Bossel (top 400).

Great week for Jamie and John ^^ Skupski bros first loss, but they're forming a good partnership together.

Great to see Baker back to some form again. Same with Goodall - although he's lost both matches - seems to be playing a lot better against much tougher opposition.
