Naomi Cavaday

Anne K was the last player into qualifying around the 238 mark I think this year (and she barely scraped in).

That means Naomi probably needs around 51.25 plus 9.5 points from points coming off (I'm not sure if Sunderland will come off before the cutoff point). She'll probably need at least 2 titles and a semi as well from Australia, so her chances have become very very slim. If the points from the 3rd Australian challenger go on after the cutoff point then it's impossible without a Wildcard.

She's managed to sneak into the main draw.

Yay! That's great news.

Qualies would give her more points, but she would be really tired to make to make any serious progress in the main draw.

Naomi Cavaday (GBR) def. (6) Florence Haring (FRA) 6-3, 6-1   yay yay

Sadly Naomi will play Mel for a place in the semis. I think that if Naomi keeps on winning matches, she will get a qualies wild card in case she misses the cut.

Forgot to post that Stoop lost. Frown

(5) Natalie Grandin (RSA) def. (Q) Georgie Stoop (GBR) 3-6, 6-3, 6-1

Nice performance except for the third set.

Naomi needs three withdrawals to get into the main draw of the next 25K. Only one if you count out the SEs.
