Oooh! Thanks. Smile

I have no idea about how the women's ranking system works. So I'll ask you for help whenever I feel the need (till I learn it myself that is). Very Happy

You know quite a lot about the women's game and your contribution to this site is much appreciated. Thanks a lot. goodjob

It will be highly interesting to see what Tara does in the next few months. She can play a limited amount of women's tennis because of the restrictions but she can improve her Juniors ranking in the meanwhile.

I want to see her do well at Eddie Herr. She likes that tournament and surely all her coaches will watch her play. Smile

She lost 6-3 6-3 against the world number 505. She should be pretty proud of what she has done out here. clap clap

This tournament is on clay. And I don't think that clay is her best surface because IMG has just one red clay court. Surprised  That makes this performance even better.

She's not going to play in Nottingham next week.

How do you know ?

She withdrew from the qualies, so she can't get in even if there are sufficient withdrawals .

Tenniseurope doesn't list her as one of the wildcards in the main or the qualies draw.

She withdrew a while ago and she hasn't received a wildcard.

She hasn't withdrawn from the 25/50K's the week after yet, but she's also on the entry list for a Grade 4 tournament in Illinois which she might be using to keep herself playing before Japan (without wasting pro events).

Aha! So she may play in another G4.

Here's the entry list:

She's perfectly capable of making this her third G4 title. That will do her ranking a lot of good as her sixth best is still zero!

This will really be her defending her points from Canada (which will come off a week after I think) last year though, so she can only gain a tiny amount (from doubles).

Yep. She'll drop her Canada points the very next week. Frown

And she'll also drop 2.5 points she gained from reaching the quarters of the doubles. So she'll need to win the Singles  and reach the semis of doubles in order to work on her points total. Tough..... but she's special. Wink

But I won't exactly worry even if she doesn't defend her points. She should do well in Osaka unless she gets a horror draw. It's hard court, plus she is pretty much in form. And you never know.... if she has family in Hong Kong or elsewhere in Asia, they may even come and watch her play. Smile

I think she may have been a no show, possibly she forgot to withdraw?

She and Jade are both on the entry list for the 25K in Japan the week after Osaka, so hopefully they'll both get in.

Yeah, a no show is possible.... She can play 14 Juniors tournaments this year, so she shouldn't waste them in case she did forget to withdraw.

Thanks for that.

Tara won the 12&U crown in her year and the she knows the surface like the back of her hand, so she'll be able to do really well here unless she draws one of the top seeds.

On an entirely different note : Good to know Tara's middle name.

The lists aren't complete, but Tara has committed herself to the Orange Bowl. Yasmin Clarke will play 16&U again.....interesting.
