GB beat Israel without dropping out a set. Play-off is tomorrow v Austria at 1:30pm UK time. The winner advances to the World Group II Play-offs on the 21-22 of April.

Anne K has won her match 7-6, 6-3. Elena B now 4-0 up against world no 48 Tamira Paszek.

Nice tweet from Darren Cahill to Judy yesterday: "well done Judy. You're making this "Captain" thing look far too easy. Go get em' tomorrow. Good luck"

Thanks Elena, how do you know that Elena B is 4-0 up ?

http://www.fedcup.com/en/results/tie/details.aspx?tieId=100018325

Austria is in the only group that had only 3 countries and they won both their matches 2-1 so they only just made it into the play-off.

Anne K Twitter : RT @annekeothavong: COME ON!!! So animated and so pumped for the team! Feels great to put GBR 1-0 up against Austria. Just need

Thanks Elena.  Your namesake has steamrolled her opponent in the 1st set and broken at the beginning of the 2nd set 1-0 and serving.  Only 1 more set to win.

Tamira has broken back in the 2nd set from 1-3 to 3-3
Having saved a game point, Elena B has broken back to go 4-3 up and serving
Tamira has broken back to 15 to level up at 4-4 !
Elena has broken for 5-4 on the 3rd BP and now serves for the match !
It appears that their serves are not strong enough to gain sufficient advantage for the server to win the game
Can Elena hold her nerves for a famous victory over the world #48 ?

Stuart Fraser a little while ago: Baltacha is not sitting down at the changeovers. Enough energy coming from her to power the whole of Eilat.

The score went briefly to 30-40 BP then back to 30-30.  Maybe Bally got a correct challenge in ?

Well done to Judy and the girls. What a great week-end performance.  Judy is really good at her scouting and preparation to get the girls into the best frame of mind for these matches.

Yesterday's match was shown on a livestream, and Elena & Judy had the biggest, longest hug at the end. The interviewer asked Elena what Judy had said, but E wasn't saying. "That's private, I'm not telling anyone".
I think Judy has really inspired them.
