They are saying on Eurosport that a stomach injury caused Kyle to withdraw.

Apparently he had a stomach injury before he played Robert, and after feeling it again yesterday has decided to withdraw through fear of making it worse and potentially missing/affecting the grass season.

A huge shame.

It's a real shame for Kyle after he'd worked so hard to win his first round.

What a shame for Kyle. Such a big moment in the sun

I wonder who was responsible for Kyle's diet and was his training tough enough to survive a 5
setter in a slam?
Let's hope he'll do better at Wimbledon

What has this got to do with the fact he had the injury BEFORE his first round match?

Kyle is top seed in Binghampton this week and has lived up to his ranking to make the final. He has successfully defended the 40 points he had coming off from a semi-final last year (with a net 8 point gain).

Will play 2nd seed Fratangelo in the final, who beat Klein in the other semi.

Kyle has just 32 points to defend from here til November so a good opportunity to crack the top 100.

Dominant performance. He's looked like a level above everyone else in this tournament. Only a matter of time before he breaks the top 100 (he will be very close again now) and is playing regularly on the tour.
