Our girls are doing far better than the boys on clay! My new favourite, Deborah Armstrong faced the fourth seed but stiil managed to drag her to three sets. A good achivement against someone ranked 606 places above you! But Deborah's conqueror, Nadja Roma of Sweden lost to 19 year old Melissa Percy. A very good performance here against someone ranked 466 places above you. Second seed Claire Peterzan joins Percy and Lucy Fletcher in the quarters. None of them face off. http://downloads.lta.org.uk/webservices/TempResults/060509Edinburgh10KWomens/smd.pdfIn doubles, Deborah continues her good run as reaches the final with Georgie Stoop after a walkover and a 6-0 6-1 thumping of her opponents. Check out the doubles draw, its hilarious. http://downloads.lta.org.uk/webservices/TempResults/060509Edinburgh10KWomens/dmd.pdf

Exactly. On top of that, only on team has a ranking! Plus two walk overs in only five matches.

that was insane.... empty draw... echo echo echo... but good for the girls getting to the quarters! which two are in the same half?
EDIT: If Gaverova and Fletcher make it through their matches we are looking at a brit in the finals!!!

But alas, everybody lost. Top seed Srndovic bt Fletcher 60 61, Percy went down 60 61 too and second seed Peterzan for some reason was beaten 60 62 by a qualifier. Compared to this Armstrong and Stoop were far better, as they lost 26 26 in the final. A good performance none the less there. Hope it continues.

Amanda Keen lost in the Final to Diana Ospina(USA) 64 62.
Not bad for her second tournament of the year AND qualifying for the event!!

Nice to see that. I have not followed any tournament for the girls except GBF8 due to all sorts of problems. Hope to do better from tomorrow.
