Interesting. What's her story then? I'm going to guess Finnish (from her name) parents/dad but grew up or at least lived in the UK hence the change.
Am I close?

She was born in Sydney. Don't really know her story but she's been in the process of changing nationality for 3 or 4 years now.

Yeah knew she was in the process, glad to here it's now done Great debate on 5live now about Watson. She's receiving such glowing praise.
She deserves it. The 2nd set was difficult and in some ways by struggling to win it she has given herself over to more praise as it shows she can dig out a set at this level. It was a good match to watch, she played well.

In Eastbourne this week Laura Robson won 2 qualifiers (Elena B withdrew from 2nd round against her). In 1st round of main draw she's beaten M J Martinez Sanchez (WR 49) in 3 sets. Plays Makarova (WR 48) next - who knocked out 2nd seed Kvitova
Heather Watson (WC) has beaten Greta Arn 6-3 6-4, and plays 7th seed Safarova next.
Heather & Laura also beat Safarova & Pavlyuchenkova 6-2 6-3 in 1st round of doubles.
Annie K went out to 8th seed Hantuchova.

Heather and Laura doing well.
Baltacha will fall outside the top 100 next week (or maybe it was this week) for the first time in quite a while. Heather can't be far off being British #1 at this rate?

It's very close between Laura, Bally and Heather for the British number 2 ranking. For next week's rankings Laura's currently leading then Bally and then Heather.
Heather though is the Brit who's won the most ranking points so far this year.
Heather's match should be on one of the Eurosport channels tomorrow morning but unfortunately Laura's match wont as it's on a non-televised court.

Good win for Heather Watson. Loved her comments afterwards about how good she felt during the match. I hope she can take that feeling into her next match too.
