..... but was released at midnight.

Smart move by the police.  Perfect timing.  Now she almost certainly can't go and blab to the parliamentary committee.  No wonder the Met chief is resigning, even if it is for the sake of his health.  Feel a bit sorry for the man because he sounded quite genuine on the news, but feel even sorrier for his successor.  Somehow can't see them queuing up to fill his position given the stink that's going to have to be sorted out.

The start of the hearing was so awkward with Rupert having these huge pauses before answering, and often after these pauses the reply would simply be "Nope" or "I can't remember".

Shame about the attacker because all that's done is help the Mudochs - it will increase public sympathy and create a distraction from the hearing itself. Wouldn't surprise me if there is a conspiracy theory suggesting they paid that man to attack them.
