Developed by CompuServe specifically for Internet use. Only uses 256 colours (8-bit). The GIF89a spec. allows for transparent backgrounds. Uses LZW encoding, a lossless technique.
Or if you want the layman's term, it's essentially a moving image, like a video.

Well since we're talking about moving stuff here.... I have a question for all the computer maniacs! Basically i've made like a "clip show" or "video" (don't know how to call it) in Windows Media Movie Project and i saved the video as a MSWMM format. Is there any possible way that i could change it into a MPEG etc?!? (im trying to upload the video on to the internet on a normal website like putfile.com, but it doesn't take MSWMM format - because it's not a valid video type)  If anyone knows how to do this (or indeed if it is actually technically impossible to do so) ..please could you help me?  Thanks you very much!  (i hope you guys understand what im talking about here!!)  |

could u not open the file in the place u made it, go to save as , and then save it as a different tyoe of file
