Seriously, why are people still assuming this coalition will last for five years?  I thought these proposed reforms still had to go through parliament - or have I missed something?

Interesting that the parties have got round the first possible bone of contention between them - the review of the UK's Human Rights Act - by conveniently passing it on to a yet-to-be-created Commission.   When things could get sticky - set up a committee or a commission.  Wonder how many more we'll see.

Think it's absolutely disgraceful though that these two terror suspects aren't being deported in case they get badly treated when they get to their own country.  What the heck is British justice coming to?  I hope that if and when the Human Rights Act is repealed or amended, this government gets far tougher on terrorists and criminals than its predecessor did.     

Not the first case of failure deport terrorist, because of the E. U. human right act. Not that long ago we had a terrorist illegally enter this country from Jordan. He was found guilty of planning and executing car bombing and sentenced to death in his absence.
As he had not commit any act of terrorism (yet) in this country, he could not be jailed
and as he had a death penalty back home, he was released and allowed to go free. No sane country would allow this, let’s see what the coalition’s home secretary does to protect the public and let terrorist know that this country is not a save haven for them.

The only problem I can see about this new coalition, is that it is being run by politicians! Rolling Eyes

If Nick Clegg had any scruples, he would have let the Tories run a minority government, which would have caused another election within 6 months and he could have put forward the proposal for true PR, saying that first past the post doesn't work...instead he choose the route of personal power! A total sell out for true Liberal aspirations.
