Speed camera it seems but I wasn't looking out for one, assumed all was well driving under 30.

The irony is I don't get a speed ticket when I intentionally speed and that will probably continue to be the case but the one time I do it completely innocently, I get caught.

Just did some research, apparently it's a very common complaint that the speed limit signs are not clear enough on Tower Bridge and very experienced drivers are constantly getting innocently caught out.

LOOK AT THAT TINY THING!

So, is that actually smaller than normal ... I guess it does look a little smaller.  I find that I miss road signs if I am not accustomed to the road set up as I am too busy looking for vehicles and pedestrians leaping out that I miss the signs ... how much is your fine?

First have to reply back saying I'm the driver... then they will probably give me £60 fine with 3 points OR £95 with 2.5 hour course with no points.

I'm desperately hoping the latter, I really don't care at all about the fine, it's the points.

But points don't stay on forever.  I've never had any (a miracle as I constantly speed), so am unsure how long they last.  But a friend of mine is a manic driver and is constantly accruing fines and points ... I've heard him say I can't get any more points for "X" number of weeks until the last lot come off or I'll lose my license ... I'll have to pay more attention next time he talks about it.  I "roasted" him at a b.day party and made up a 16 verse limerick - one of the verses included the fact that the police followed  him into his driveway and ticketed him there ... I've never let him forget that one!!  lol

Oh heck ... raise the insurance!  Under 25 years old is expensive for insurance as it is and also depends on the car.  How many points before someone loses their license?

Hmmm ... so 3 points is quite a lot when the ceiling is 12!   Eyebrow raise.

Well, all you can do is be super careful - not so easy when you're driving in London and never really know what is round the next corner.

I know I'm paranoid. But am I paranoid enough?

You can always collude with someone and say you weren't sure who was driving. This is something you can do only once, mind, and only for fixed cameras, not the handheld ones, cos they shoot you from the front. The rozzers let you off but send you a stiff letter.
