What about a Ford Focus?
I know they are common but they are surely the best budget second hand car by far. Really cheap repairs as well.
The Focus is really a great car. Handles well and sticks on the road better than a Peugeot. If you are planning to do quite a bit of Motorway driving Amy you'd be better with the Focus than the Peugeot.

I'm still eyeing up the new Jaguar XJ second hand, it's all counting on whether one of my oil companies succeeds within the next couple of months.
Nearly bought my MD's Mercedes a couple of weeks ago but I was one week too late, someone else nicked it... was such a bargain
Next on my list is a colleague's BMW M5 (2006) in January but it's got 180 miles on the clock! Not sure how long it will last.
What about parking? Do you have a space?

Yeah at the moment and if I moved, I'd be sure to get some where with parking.
Even moving to a place like Shepherds Bush which is incredibly busy, you can get a parking permit given to you if you are a tenant.

Do you have to pay for the permit? What about people parking in your spot when you're not there - how does that work out?
One of the perks of living in the country ... nice size garage (25 x 25) !!

Good question, no idea
Ideally, I suppose I'd pick a place like I used to live where each flat gets its own space. If I couldn't find a place with parking, I'd just have to sell the car to my parents as they could do with a new one but are far too frugal to take action.

I bet parking is a nightmare down there ... AND expensive. <giggle> I'm almost certain that is not how "frugal" is spelled ... but it's very cute ...

My family have only had 2 cars since I was born - a Mercedes and a BMW and we only got rid of the later because it was too big for London. They're ******* awesome cars.
