He's the Scottish Alan Carr, can't say I find him funny in the slightest. Camp frothy nonsense IMO.

I HATE alan carr. To be fair, most of his stuff is very very camp, but I just find him appealing. I remember laughing a lot. But then, I have always been easily amused with comedians making other people feel uncomfortable about their sexuality lol Which was pretty much half his slot.

Stand up that I like is where the comics engage with people in the audience and rip them to shreds in an amusing way. Smile

Russell Brand, Rob Brydon, Tim Minchin, David Mitchell... and he's not a comedian but he's very brilliant and funny - Charlie Brooker.  wub

All the comedians I thought were the greatest are, with the exception of Billy Connolly, all dead!  I think humour must be a generation thing because I truly do not find any of the younger comedians today in any way funny.

I would tend to agree with you there Aileen - never a lover of Little Britain (though I did find the slimming club sketch funny blush ) nor Catherine Tate.  I have to say that comedians, young and old, make darn good actors! yes

Oh and 'Scotland the What'  If you don't get the Doric you won't get 'Scotland the What'  but if you do, it's really, really funny!
Went to see them every time they came to Edinburgh.  Absolutely hilarious, although the Doric was watered down for our benefit!

As for the greatest comedians sadly no longer with us - Dave Allen and Rikki Fulton, although, unlike Connolly, I don't think Fulton was much known outside Scotland.
