It's actually a really good show for anyone wanting to learn about business. None of them know their bloody figures. Their profits, turnover, P.E's etc.

I've never really watched this show, my mum does and tells me about it all the time. I did watch that million pound giveaway spin off show. I though it was so fixed and not worth watching. Even Simon Jordan admitted that it wasnt really their money they were giving away, and that they were told who to give money to, by the producers. I dont know if this is the case with Dragons Den though. Doubt it!

Really, really enjoy the show. Much more unpredictable now in the new format because in the last series - it was always the last pitch of the episode that secured the investment.

Only dragons I like are Peter Jones and Richard Farleigh (big 6,6" guy and the Aussie) Theo is just a pain in the ass though.  Rolling Eyes And its good to see actual products finding success thanks to the show.  yay

Peter Jones is great as well, he is very straight-talking.
Theo annoys me, but he usually uncovers any financial anomalies.
It makes me laugh at how some of the companies evaluate what their businesses are worth!
In Marketing Management we did some Dragon's Den type games in 1st and 2nd year of Uni. Some of our lecturers were previously CEOs of various companies, so they can be just as harsh.  doh

That sounds interesting Rafa. Yeah, their valuations are crazy! Really crazy! The prob is i think that they come in with an idea (they're often inventors) which has been their life's passion and they can't separate the emotional view of its worth from the financial view.

p.s. your avatar's really doing my head in.  shocking I just want to give that smug looking guy a slap, whether he is the "sex" or not.

Brilliant show, never miss it.
This week's show had a guy who invented a thing to put over the end of cucumbers, so you don't have to use clean film. Absolutely ridiculous lol
It was very funny, they ripped him apart. Especially the Greek, Theo whatsit? "This looks like a condom, for a cucumber. That's what you've invented. It's as useful as a pair of rubber lips on a woodpecker!"

IMO people mad to be asking for like 10% and 15%. You have to give them 30% at least I reckon. They (the Dragon's) do want to make money too, they are not just giving it away. I think you should perhaps start at like 15% or 20% to see what they will offer you, but certainly be prepared to give 30%. 2 women with a Kid's Yoga business the other day turned down an offer for 30% which would have got 2 Dragon's on board! They only wanted to give 15%, non negotiable. Absolute madness and they'll live to regret it.
