That must have been absolutely devastating for you. I'm really sorry that happened, and your love for your kids always shines through.  hug

For me, it's not even about my life being hard. I was just trying to explain the process of how I came to think the way I do.

The chair I now sit in is very comfortable.

Very sorry to hear it, Elly. How did you cope? Did you get married again?
Just got the kids through their education.  And yes - I re-married, but it isn't the same.  How could it be?

Even if it's not the same I am glad you did. I'm sure it's very hard to raise your family completely on your own. Facing the death of a loved one is always the most difficult thing in life. It turns your life upside down.

Life is hard, Linda, no doubt.  My husband died when my kids were approaching 16.  I didn't know which way to turn.  My world, literally fell apart.  I'm not comparing or looking for sympathy - but you just have to try to find a way forward and stay strong.  x

You have my sympathy, losing someone is bad enough but one of those you care about leagues above everyone else is just a tragedy.

It must have been devastating for the kids too, but it sounds as though you've done a stellar job with them Elly! You'll be seeing your girl soon yeah?

Thanks - but I'm not unique, and I'm very lucky to have two amazing children. People often don't get that, but I do.  Very Happy

My mum was widowed young. I was 17 with 2 younger sisters.
It was really tough on her.

But you just learn to deal with things, as you're Mum did - some people better than others, I suppose.

Didn’t dream it - I was thinking about someone yesterday – hasn’t seen him in a while etc. and he was here today. Coincidence?
