A first.

I know when I've written a good essay. My psychology one was poor, so I don't know how I ended up with a decent mark for that. I was very happy with my social theory essay, though.
Hmmm, is this like a final draft thingy or do you get to correct? Maybe this just proves that you work best under pressure...

From what I hear, I got a 2:1 for my social theory essay. Not happy at all.

Can't you appeal it? Why'd they only give you a 2:1??

It is strange that you thought your psychology essay was poor and yet you got a decent mark, whereas this social theory essay is the inverse.

It appears your tutor looks for different thing in an essay than you do.  Did he explain why you only got a 2:1 ?

Well, I actually got slightly higher for my social theory. The essay was 10 times better, though. Different subjects and different lecturers. Haven't had a chance to speak to either of them yet.

Maybe it's because I put a lot of emphasis on the writing. Our lecturers don't seem to care about the quality of the writing.

No, this was a good essay. It was how I wanted it to be, unlike some of my other essays, which were rushed.

Yes, only one draft. Wouldn't change it even if I could, though.

No idea. It's still a good mark and will be one of the highest in the year. Just not as good as I expected.

Of course its a good mark but maybe if you got some feedback and still wasn't happy with it, then you could appeal?? I don't know, might be talking rubbish - it happens. lol

I'll see what happens once I go over it with my lecturer. I'm probably too polite to ever appeal a mark given to me by one of my lecturers, who I'm pretty friendly with.
