Did they give you any extra time to balance out the extra marks?

No, though I'm not too sure they relised that there was an extra 10 marks worth of questions until they were marking it.

Well that just sucks! Well at least it was harder this time and not easier than the real thing, if you managed a good result in those conditions, hopefully it will be great when it counts!

So, my son has been offered a place at Bristol and Cardiff uni's but would be classed as an overseas student as we haven't lived in the UK for 3 years prior to him applying to uni, so that means if we came back now, my girls wouldn't even qualify but if they came over from another EU country 3 years prior to starting uni, then they would Think

My son applied to the uni's in the UK on his recent visit as they do the actual course he wants - he's going to have to go to different ones here as not one uni does the specific course he's after. Rolling Eyes

Crap that sucks as we screw overseas students over when it comes to fees! Frown Much as I hate the injustice I'm glad I didn't have to pay more, I'm struggling enough to try and find the money to save to pay fees as it is.
Can he apply for loans etc or for partial support? There may be some groups/organisations that will support students going abroad to study.

I think that he would have to be a real destitute case and the fact that he is British really peeves him off!  He can vote, he can join the army and fight in Afghanistan, he can move back and work and pay taxes and national insurance but he can't be given British status for uni for another 3 years.

I think that the criteria for here is that you have permenant residence status.

That was my way of saying hello back.

Let's not stray off topic, I feel this thread is somewhat sacred, I don't want to post my exam results only to find some idiots play fighting.

So pleased for my son.  He got a couple of first class marks in his recent exams, and looks as if he's bagged an internship in Brussels for four weeks during the summer.  Clever boy - takes after his mother, of course. Wink
