Gluten free diet
« on: October 17, 2011, 09:19 AM »
Does anyone on here have experience of a gluten free diet. What tips can you give and what everyday foods would you avoid. I guess there must be gluten in many processed foods that we are blissfully unaware of. Bread, cakes, biscuits, pastries are obvious things to cut out, but what else would help, especially with regard to tiredness, which AM says he now doesn't experience when he wakes up.

I know I'm paranoid. But am I paranoid enough?

Staying completely gluten free is a full-time job, as manufacturers change their product ingredients all the time. There's an index on Coeliac UK of which brands are currently suitable. In general, you want to avoid cereals, pasta, bread, biscuits, cakes... and beer!
