Apparently Google is looking to buy Twitter.

It's very exciting news! I can see it making a massive impact for notebooks in the next few years.

People on their iPhone can now allow Google to detect their current location and then give them search results based on that. Just click the 'Preferences' link on the Google home page and select 'Yes' to the device option.
Now if you search 'restaurant', most of the results will be restaurants close to your current location. Next to those results will be a link to allow you to see directions on Google Maps.

I seem to recall you made a good point when this was first in the pipeline i.e. that philanderers would have to be very careful as they could get caught out !!

That was about a different feature. The one I'm talking about now can't get anyone in trouble, it simply improves search results for the user.

So I wonder, do you know exactly what they changed about it?

Well when you said it was a different feature I was not following along. I thought it was still the same feature, but amended and had no idea what the amendments were.

Google have launched an encrypted version of their search... it should mean that if you are at school or work, your IT people cannot see what searches you have made. https://www.google.com (notice the http s)

Google have bought Motorola Mobility* for $12.5 billion... looking forward to see what comes from this.
*Motorola split into two companies, Google has taken over the company that makes the phones.
