^ Good old linguistics. So many words, with so much social context. I love this subject!

I think you should speak in your part of the country accent instead of try to be posh. Yes sometimes my spelling is wrong but we can't all be perfect.

I know I'm paranoid. But am I paranoid enough?

Yes, but it's not an acronym - it's an abbreviation.

I get homicidal over the misuse of the apostrophe, sad I know, but when in doubt,
BLOOMING
well leave it out!

Yes but an acronym is a type of abbreviation. So if we're going to be more specific, it should have been referred to as an initialism.

MT, problem with English spelling is that as soon as you think there might be some sort of "rule" you can find words that break it! English spelling is a total polyglot, a nightmare. I've been told, don't know if it's true, that dyslexia doesn't happen in Italy.
Too many conquests and printing press coming from Holland didn't help either.
Is why text is no more nonsensical/wrong to me than the actual words.
But grammar and punctuation, now you're talking the sacrosanct...
Almost to prove a point, but without trying at all, I've got Latin and Greek words in here!

I must admit that sometimes my spelling is wrong. I try to do it phonetically and its even wrong there. But I do my best I can.

My pet hate at the moment is the misuse of 'less' and 'fewer' - it drives me nuts. Almost as much as the use of plural verbs with collective nouns!
