It sucks, but I don't mind others pretending to celebrate it. Wink It's the thought that counts.

Because it's commercial, but I can appreciate the thought behind it, same as with Christmas. I really like it, but not just because of the presents.

Yes I suppose it has been hijacked a bit but its still a lovely day, we usually have a family Valentine Day but depending on who they are or are not seeing, girls don't always join in.  I just like the atmosphere around on Valentine Day most people all happy, smiling and joking - its great yay yay yay yay yay yay yay

Really? I always thought it was the other way around due to disappointment and the realisation of loneliness.

I used to hate it. But now I don't even really notice it's different to any other day.

Most single people have surely come to the acception that it's only commercial?
Valentine's day is a day I don't feel lonely at all, probably out of compassion for some of the couples out there.

Oh Mark, that sounds so sad  Crying or Very sad  You don't need Valentines Day for disappointment and realisation of loneliness, that happens to someone every single day.  Not everyone is loved and cared for but to me Valentines Day is a celebration of happiness and love and whilst I have both I'm damned sure I'm going to enjoy it.  It does make people happy, not everyone, but then nothing does.

From what I hear, most people my age don't have that special someone and therefore find Valentines Day rather sad and depressing. I do have that special someone but regardless find Valentines Day annoying mainly due to its commercial nature.
