Anyone else see Part 1 of Oprah's interview with Lance Armstrong last night?
What an arrogant piece of crap he is.
Here's a sample of what he said about his 40 minute phone call to Betsy Andreu:

"I did call her crazy," he said. "I did. I did … I think she'd be OK with me saying this, I said, 'Listen, I called you crazy; I called you a *****; I called you all of these things, but I never called you fat.' "

Then after he said this, he smirked to Oprah.

He is indeed an arrogant dick. I knew this from a clip I saw of him talking to a journalist.

I'll have to watch the Oprah interview but it will be difficult.

Why will it be difficult? Time-wise or because you are extremely disappointed in him, as I am?

Difficult because I will probably find it uncomfortable to watch such arrogance, and presumably lack of sincerity and remorse.

I know I'm paranoid. But am I paranoid enough?

I was one who was taken in by the whole circus - the cancer recovery, the fairy story. I really got into the Tour de France as a result. Now I hate the guy.

He's not coming across as sorry.. just sorry he was caught.
Oprah is not backing down on any questions.

I know what you mean Nigel. My hubby can't watch because he doesn't want to believe it. He wears the Nike Livestrong clothing, and refuses to take the framed picture we have on our wall. I will have to replace it later when he's not so aware.

Did you watch the interview?

It's not received much press, has it? Struggling to find it...

I went to watch him at the 03 Tour when I was in France. He was a hero of mine. It's like finding out Father Xmas mugged your granny.

Changing the subject a little the guy who beat Nadal at Wimbledon Rochus has said again that doping was rife in Tennis. He said he could not understand how player could play a five set match and manage to compete the next day. Andy said that Nole had played a five match set and had slept until 3pm on the following day without any practice for his next game. This is taken from an article in today's Daily Record. Andy was saying that he was at one time against drug testing but since the Armstrong drug debate he is happy that the tennis players are still randomly tested.

I don't know the details, but I read somewhere recently that the cash will still be rolling in for him! Sickening isn't it!

Nole has something to say about Armstrong:

"I think it's a disgrace for the sport to have an athlete like this,'' Djokovic said after his third round win over Czech veteran Radek Stepanek.

"He cheated the sport.

"He cheated many people around the world with his career, with his life story.

"I think he should suffer for his lies all these years.''

Djokovic said he used to enjoy watching cycling but felt that many of the great champions were tainted by the doping.

I can't believe he's trying to get his lifelong ban from cycling lifted!  Who the hell would cheer for him now? I hope the sponsors will demand their money back! I hope those journalists and others he has sued for a lot of money in the past will now sue him......not only for their money back, but also for compensation for the damage he has caused to their lives!

Yeah, watching the interview, you wondered if he had any values at all. He used the same 'honest' voice in the Oprah interview as he did when interviewed by Tillotson (under oath).
