I had a medication review with a chronic pain consultant today- the outcome is that I will be getting an appointment in the new year to get a stellate ganglion block. Basically local anaesthetic will be injected into ganglion (nerve crossroads) and should block the pain signals being sent giving me relief from the constant pain. In theory it sounds great and just the kind of thing I was hoping would be suggested so YAY! But I'll not get my hopes up till it's done. Also the effects could be temporary (a few hours) or last up to a couple of weeks so if it does show signs of helping then it will probably take a number of repeat injections to hopefully cause long term improvement. But the most positive outcome of an appointment with a specialist in a while  ...though the DWP have decided I'm not entitled to ESA and therefore I'm fit enough to do some sort of work  so got an appeal to put in about that. |

Good luck for your interview with the DWP I really do mean it Hazybear. The amount of people who are ill and have been interviewed by the company called Atos who have said people with severe illness are fit to work is a disgrace. You have to be practically dead before they will not take away your benefits. I find it terrible the way those people are being treated by this UK government.

Good luck for your interview with the DWP I really do mean it Hazybear. The amount of people who are ill and have been interviewed by the company called Atos who have said people with severe illness are fit to work is a disgrace. You have to be practically dead before they will not take away your benefits. I find it terrible the way those people are being treated by this UK government.
Went to see the citizens advice folk today and the guy there said that by their figures 90% of claims for employment support allowance are being rejected and having to go to appeal, and about 80% of those then still get rejected and go to a tribunal. |

I've had labyrinthitis for 7 weeks , just wish it would go away now!!! All the best Hazybear hope you get sorted soon. Makes me realise how important our health is.

I've had labyrinthitis for 7 weeks , just wish it would go away now!!! All the best Hazybear hope you get sorted soon. Makes me realise how important our health is.
Ooouch I was bored and fed up enough when I had it for 3 weeks! Hope that sorts itself soon, it's horrible |

Suffering with an extremely annoying cough right now. Bareable but there's times where I cough so much I feel like I'm going to puke.

You probably need antibiotics. I had something similar at the beginning of this year and it lasted almost three months. I tried all sorts of cough syrups but nothing really helped.

3 months :O. I hope to god my cough doesn't last that long. Can't sleep because of it right now and gotta get up in around 4 hours :/

A cough shouldn't last 3 months. Possibly asthma? Just saying because it happened to me and turned out it was asthma. Unless you smoke. |

Suffering with an extremely annoying cough right now. Bareable but there's times where I cough so much I feel like I'm going to puke.
Try fresh lemon and honey! Take one whole lemon [skin on] and cut into four or five thick slices. Place in a small pan and add about half a teaspoon on sugar. Cover with water and bring to the boil. Allow to boil for at least 5 minutes. While it's boiling, I like to prod the middle of the lemon slices with a wooden spoon, to extract as much of the juice as possible. When ready, pour into a large mud containing a 'large' spoonful of good quality honey. [Single flower honey is much better than blended]! Stir and drink! It's the best cure for a cough I know. Take it twice a day [making it fresh each time] and don't forget to brush your teeth afterwards. |

Believe I managed to contract a mild case of gastroenteritis. Not as bad as the case I had when I was a child, but it's still ******* painful.
Wasn't sure what the problem was. As a pessimist, I went from thinking I might have stomach cancer to the much more likely Crohn's disease.
Seems to be passing now, though.

I do have asthma and have been diagnosed since I was a kid. Perhaps it is that but I'm not struggling with my breathing or anything. |
