Hazybear that's so sad hope you get it sorted, I think it's very worrying when you don't no what your dealing with, and not helping I'm sure with a tribunal as well. I've just been  diagnosed with breast cancer , terrifying but something to get through, life can be very hard sometimes .
Deb........I'm sorry to hear of your predicament and know how terrifying it can be, as two of my sisters were diagnosed with breast cancer........ one 2005 and the other in 2008. I also had a friend who had a mastectomy about 25 years ago, [as did one of my sisters] and I can tell you that all 3 came through it just fine and are still around today to tell the tale! ......So please try not to worry about it too much. They can do wonders these days! I'll say a prayer for you, as I did for them!  Keep your chin up sweetie! hug

So sorry to hear of these medical problems and hope that they are resolved soon.  I shall stop moaning about my hips as luckily there is a solution (replacements) although the recovery is quite long the pain is now minimal on one side and once the left is done I hope to be fairly normal.  I have been suffering for over three years with varying degrees of pain and know how debilitating it can be. Take care all of you.

Thanks - I actually think it is probably easier for me. I have had disabilities from birth, and have no real concept of not being in some form of pain or other. I have learnt to code a fair bit of of it out.  I rather think it must be a lot harder if you recall times when you didn't have to cope with it.  Besides its a handy excuse for being ratty a lot...!!!

I'm glad the hip replacements so far have been successful.  An aunt of mine had  both her's replaced (several years apart) and it made a tremendous difference to her life just to be able to walk normally again and to be free from crippling pain.  Rehab does take time and requires a lot of patience and perseverance, but you will get there in the end.

I truly can't imagine what it would be like to be in constant pain throughout life and I greatly admire your courage and sense of humour.

I have osteoarthritis in my fingers (due to years of pounding a typewriter) and the pain did get very bad for several years - like red hot needles were being stuck into my finger joints - but fortunately it has eased off considerably now to a very tolerable level with just occasional relatively mild flare-ups.  I began wearing a magnetic bracelet about three years ago and that seems to have helped, although I admit to being very sceptical at the time, so whether the improvement would have happened anyway, I don't know, but I've no intention of parting company with my bracelet to find out!

hug Will be praying for you and your family as you deal with the diagnosis and treatment.

Hi, many sympathies - having had years of constant pain I am aware of just how draining it can be.  When I was battling with ill health retirement and subsequently the cretins at the DWP, I used an IPod/I phone app called My Pain Diary to log all of my pain on a daily basis. You can then print off quite comprehensive reports of location of pain and difficulties it caused me ie gripping, feeling sick etc. For my ESA appeal (they backed down before the actual tribunal), I got supporting evidence from every one of my many consultants, also photos off all the kit I use.  With regard to the pain have you tried a TENS machine, it helped a bit when my arthritis was/is particularly foul. Also might be a long shot, but have you looked up the symptoms of Fibromyalgia - that has a multitude of peculiar and severe symptoms. You can have it along with other things, so it can confuse diagnosis a bit.  I have got lots of reports I wrote with regard to my judgement of why I wasn't capable of coping with work any longer. If it would be any use please let me know. Keep battling I believe they usually see sense in the end.

Yeah many of my symptoms fit with fibromyalgia so I'm hoping to get tested for it to see if it's maybe the cause of the severity of the problem. With the DWP the blackouts may actually prove helpful as that might tip the balance in overturning the decision with how regular they are just now.

What happened?
Broken shoulder through a stupid accident - resulting in surgery and a fabby nine inch scar on my arm - not life threatening - just stupid and annoying...
