Yes, but the driver clearly deviated and turned into the crowd. The path ahead was clear.

Someone commented on the video that the guy lost control of the car due to hitting something, which is why it suddenly went into a crowd.

One theory: The driver would have already been fearful of his life so imagine how he would feel if he accidently hit people with his car... he would of felt certain they would try and kill him so in a moment of panic and survival, he just slams down the pedal to escape.

Doesn't make it right, just trying to understand.
