Yes, the middle lane and outside lanes are both overtaking lanes. If you use either to cruise in, you're clogging up the motorway. At a pinch, at 3 in the morning with no traffic around, it's arguably safer to sit in the middle lane, as it gives you room for error if you drop off.
When I'm on the far right, the only people clogging up the motorway is everyone in front of me.

Um, thanks, Mark? Although to be completely honest, I haven't posted a picture of myself here in ages so I have no idea if you're basing your opinion on photos from last year.

Well, it just so happens that the far right lane has cars going faster than the other two lanes 99.9% of the time. So I think it's a reasonable unofficial name, Mr Pedantic.

This conversation has actually reminded me of one of my top minor irratations.

Girls who are fat who call themselves curvy to try and put positive spin on it.
