I have only been on here for 5 months but wish I had known about this site many years ago as I have been a tennis fan since I can remember and I am 68.  My dad introduced me to it when I was about 3 but I showed no signs of being any good but continued to watch as much as possible.  It was not on TV then but I used to watch him playing when he was in the Army.  It was wonderful when one could watch Wimby on TV.

:p If you have, then scratch it, w00t! It could be nasty.

How's things Bev? I've neglected this site for too long. Hope all are well and thriving.

Hi Tally wave

I often think of you when I see Wimbledon (the movie) advertised on sky movies, or if I fancy a bit of Davis Cup nostalgia Very Happy

We are still in the same town, in the same house.

Kids are all good - son finishes his degree in a few weeks but will be signing up to do his masters from next year (some science like  microbiology or biochemistry Embarassed ).  Eldest daughter has nearly completed her first year at uni (music) and will be performing with the Trust Waikato Symphony Orchestra in November for the Waikato Proms band and my youngest daughter got her solo licence for a microlight earlier this year, so it's all happening for them! I'm still working at the same place and hubby has a new job with Habitat for Humanity and he loves that.  I will be going to the tennis next year and have everthing booked yay

How's things your neck of the woods?  You seem to be getting a bit of rain your parts - I'm glad that we are into spring/summer here, though it will never feel quite right leading up to Christmas Very Happy

Great to catch up with your news, Bev. I've been so zonked out on painkillers for what seems like months now that I have days when I stick the laptop on and it's two hours later when I come to.

Wow, children have done well. Do you feel Kiwi now?

I've been housebound for several months now, my knees have packed up.....too much tennis playing in my youth, or 50 years of steroids. Frown I rather think it's the latter! which I could cope with, it's the pain that gets me down. Not easy when you live on your own.

coming to terms with having to have No 1 hound put down, but I have a great dog walker for Raffa and he's the easiest dog in the world to have around. Smile He hates morning and hasn't emerged from under the duvet yet. Bless. wub

Sorry to hear you're not in the best of health Tally. I guess that you would feel very frustrated by your body letting you down and the side effects of painkillers. Glad that you do have Raffa to keep you company.

No I don't feel Kiwi - I think that they think me mad at work! Some things still don't feel normal - wrong season for the time of the year is a main one and don't think I'll ever get used to that lol Some things are more relaxed though.
