hey everyone.not been on for a while cos ive been away at an orchestra course.we did concerts in edinburgh and glasgow (i met prince edward after the edinburgh one) and radio scotland recorded the glasgow one for a programme on at 3 o clock today.if u live in scotland you can listen to it on the radio (810 mediumwave or 92-95 fm) or else anyone else in britain (sorry non britsh ppl) can listen to it on the interent by going to the bbc webpage, launching radioplayer and listening to grace notes which should be under radio scotland.u can also listen to it on the bbc webpage for up to a week after it has been released so u should all have a chance to liste to it in the next week.

we were playing waltons 'henry V suite' (music from the laurence olivier film), strauss 1st horn concerto with david pyatt whos one of the best horn players in the world (he played the same piece in last night ofthe proms last year) and vaughan-williams 'london symphony'.concerts got amazing reviews and our conductor was also amazing.guy called vernon handley whos 70 or 80 but is renowned as one of the greatest ever conductors of british music.sorry if im going on a bit about this i could go on forever.

can u not listen to it on that.
i was really getting a bit bored of henry V by the end of the week cos i played it with a different orchetsra last year and know it inside out.the music was all good though and it wasnt as hard as the stuff we normally play so we were getting time off reherasals.normally we rehearse for 8 1/2 hours a day which is quite intense

The reviews sound wonderful iain Smile

Quote
A tangy cor anglais solo asserted itself after the introductory bars of the slow movement - which drew to a close with a confident viola solo.
