Presumably they thought the world will end on that date.

I'll be the first to post on 22nd December 2012, and I'll take great pleasure in doing so.
Good you can be the first to wish me a Happy Birthday!!!

^ I was on work's reception desk most of the afternoon, catching the news on TV.  It was mind-blowing watching it.  If there is one thing sure and certain, Mother Nature is not a lady to be messed with.

Well, now.  What I can remember is, that they said the world 'as we know it' would end.  I guess that's open to a multitude of interpretations.

I'll see your post, and raise you two...
They didn't count on the Spanish showing up!!! They were about 600 years off the mark! Wait a minute...I think they were already on their way out by that time...It was the Aztecs who bore the brunt.....

I don't think it will because the San Andreas is on the other side of the mid-Pacific ridge (which form the Hawaiian Islands) basically moving in opposite directions. But it could cause a big one in China.

What a horror story the whole thing is.

I wonder how come the Mayan calendar ends on 21st December 2012?  Did they run out of paper?  As far as I could glean from what I skimmed over today, there's going to be some crazy planetary alignment in 2012 that will cause a huge magnetic shift.
Strange you mention the planets because last summer was an alignment of planets, where at sundown Saturn, Jupitur, Venus, and Mars were in conjunction. I am not sure if it continues this year. They could have been a little late nervous

Now that you mention it, I do recall the alignment ... but, we're all still here - thus far !

It's hard to comprehend the magnitude of this devastation.  The volume of natural disasters that appear to be occurring in quick succession are really worrying.  I googled the 2012 thing.  Flip me, if I thought I'd only 18 or so months left, I'd be out there giving it large!  Seriously, does anyone think there's a modicum of truth in it?

I don't think that the world is going to end then either.

Anyway, my hubby was sent an email from a friend earlier this week, this being the 1st line from it

The greatest revolution in human history begins March 11th, 2011 with the planet Uranus' entrance into the constellation of Aries. This is a pinnacle moment in human history that will come to be known as the Revolution of Consciousness.

It was written by someone called Szuson Wong or possibly not.  Salvador Russo might be the person that wrote it and she's just quoted what he was saying dontknow

As my son keeps telling me, when does your current calendar end?  They just made a calender up until that date and, unfortunately, they weren't around to update it. Very Happy

Also, I'm sure the age of Aquarius has been mentioned too search

It's all too weird and coincidental for my liking. I'm hoping Szuson is Wong.  If she's not, at least I go down with a laugh.. And you are laughing, guys?  Right? nervous
