Courage isn't absence of fear but mastery of it.

F**KING W**KERS
I don't care about the history of the troubles, or what I know or what I don't. This sort of thing in this day and age is shocking.
Makes my blood boil too, Neil, especially when kids get hurt.
Typical of these cowards is that all the bomb attacks took place when the perpatrators knew the police would be focussing on the Apprentice Boys' parade - and anyway I reckon it's time all sectarian parades on both sides are stopped. Easier said than done, I suppose.

There's been a bit of talk in the past about airline safety on here, that's why I posted it. I think Daisy was quite involved in the discussion...

Not a problem for me
though I think I'm flying Pacific Blue again to Australia.
My son is flying back to the UK again this year for a month in November and he's using Emirates, so nice to know that they have a good record as well as having a good price.

The entire situation is - and always has been - utterly pathetic.

Are the troubles in Ireland still taught as part of history at school? As someone who studied this at 14, I could never (and still don't) understand the reasoning behind it all

I was in my mid 20s when the "troubles" started. I felt so sad because I'd been to NI and loved the country and its people. Much of the violence was truly appalling and by the early 1970s it had spread to the UK mainland, which was very worrying. The cause was partly religious bigotry, going back about 400 years, but there were considerable political and nationalist issues as well. Pretty complex stuff which I doubt many people outside that country understand.

What is terrifying - what she did, or her apparently lenient sentence? Ms Benaissa is to undergo counselling for what are deep-seated problems. Giving somebody a suspended jail sentence doesn't mean they are entirely free (as the article suggests). Should she commit the same crime, which is extremely unlikely given the case's publicity, as men will avoid her like the plague, she will go to prison for two years.
However, the message is clear - unprotected sex, unless you know your partner is "clean", is foolhardy, but I've no doubt that it won't stop the risk-takers, especially if they're having casual sex while either drunk or under the influence of drugs.

I remember having to leave the shopping centre a number of times due to bomb threats. Never been to the country but it looks so lovely. It's a damn shame.
