I believe in global warming, but I also believe in sensationalism.
It isn't sensationalism. And it's precisely that kind of attitude that has got us to this point.
RS isn't a tabloid. That is a well researched story, and it should scare the **** out of anyone who reads it.

I wasn't referring to that article though, more the likes of the Sun and the Mail.

What should we do about the 2 deg. Clydey?
Lifestyle changes apparently won't cut it. As the story said, the planet's future is in the hands of the likes of Exxon and BP.
Capitalism is no longer just a subject for sociologists.

What can I do? Nothing we do as individuals will even make a dent in the problem.

So all these years of me recycling, using home energy at low-peak times, walking instead of driving, never idling my engine, never using drive-thru's, buying and cooking with real ingredients instead of packaged micowave foods...yadayadayada.
All for nothing?

That's the reason why I don't think about it much.
I simply hope that when the sh*t really hits the fan, scientists will try out some of their crazy ideas and one of them will work.

Yes.
I doubt anything will work, besides the oil companies seeing some sense.
The logic is ******* baffling. They will cripple the planet in order to make more money than anyone could ever need.

Pretty much.
It doesn't hurt, but the average person really isn't the problem.

I may be naive, but I still believe in the voice of the people.
Or, for the sake of our planet, someone needs to do a Lady Macbeth in the ears of the head honchos of Exxon and BP before the spot grows too big.

What do you mean, 'the voice of the people'?
People don't take this seriously enough. And even if they did, it wouldn't impact the fossil-fuel industry one bit.

I am a 'voice.'
You are a 'voice.'
We are people.
Collectively, as a world population we can make a loud voice.
So, I guess we just have to accept the inevitable then, and it's all downhill from here?

Exxon and BP.
I've not really done much research on this global warming thing but why are the oil companies to blame? Are they not simply providing resources that people truly need at this moment? Pretty much everything in life comes from oil so I'm certainly glad they do what they do even if they do get a rather nice profit.
I would have thought the main blame would be from the governments of the world. They should be offering more funding for solutions and perhaps forcing people to be green by law rather than futile attempts from the odd volunteer.
