That's because most American people, and apparently you as well, are incapable of understanding that a president's economic policies are in fact worthless if Congress doesn't agree/pass them.
On the contrary, I do understand. However, I stand by my comments about Obama's country's affection for him or lack of same.

Must admit it is pretty bad. Lots of flooding causing generators to explode and a few fires destroying homes.
Electricity is down and people have no light other than candles or torches. It looks like the next few day are going to be bad. Especially for the low lying areas in New York. Just hope that the worst is over and I am sure the people of New York will survive and rebuild damage that has been done.

I am not sure what the aftermath will be re: Sandy but I am getting all sorts of reports. CNN was on to it like rubber on glue all night. They ought to get a life! lol
When I got back from work yesterday, all our elevators went all kaput and the technicians were on their way to fix it. I believe there was a brief power shortage because of the wind. Now I live in a very nice area and it's a very sophisticated well maintained condo fairly new building, so I can’t imagine the aftermath on other areas. Long story short, since I park underground, I had to take the stairs and climb 10 stories to get to my apt., which is on the 9th floor. I didn't take any break - thought it would be a great exercise but I was so out of breath that couldn’t do anything for 5 minutes, I was regretting already when I was on the 5th floor which was technically the 6th for me. lol

Are you serious?
Congress approves the budget, nothing to do with Obama or Romney. Not to mention, Romney's businesses are partially responsible for the influx of jobs and money to China/the president has nothing to do with how businesses here in America are run. Once again, all legislation is passed by Congress which doesn't penalize businesses for collecting tax breaks by calling themselves American while simultaneously getting cheaper labour and parts abroad. Blame your fellow Congresspeople for that down in Florida.
I have no idea who 'hoods' are, but I can only assume that's a racist term. Congratulations.

It would appear as if you are so besotted by Obama that you are not able to see past your nose. Iamabritt put it succintly and correctly. Obama is a disaster for USA and for the Western world and G-d helps us if he is re-elected, which I believe sadly will happen

I criticize Obama, thanks. Especially on his allowing drones to be used, which is something he actually CAN control.
You're in the minority, even the UK would vote for Obama.

Honestly, this isn't even me favouring Obama. This is me actually knowing how the US government operates and who is actually responsible here.

Thanks Veronica for explaining how the US government operates, something which is a bit of a mystery to many Brits - but then a fair number of Brits haven't much of a clue about British politics either.

@OSS
Disagree with you on everything but...will only say Obama inherited a "poisoned chalice" from Bush. He didn't appropriate the blame because I think it's fairly well know that he doesn't enjoy conflict, much prefers negotiation.
He appears a decent, intelligent man in an almost impossible situation.
Hope he squeaks in.
My feelings too. And I thought it was very interesting that the Republican Governor of New Jersey, who has always been a fierce critic of Obama, was heard on the BBC news praising him for his handling of the situation so far. Full story here -

Correct Caz. Wish we could do a swop. I think he's a class act. I read Dreams from My Father and The Audacity of Hope a few years back. Loved his honesty.

If he controls the drones ,why did he tell the "help' to stand down. The drone above the compound was "live streaming " pictures of what was happening on the ground,he and hilary ,panneta and petraus were watching those men die. leadership no way.
By the way Hoods refers to a group got nothing to do with colour.
He (obama ) has divided this country like no other. He has incurred more debt than all the other guys put together.
