How much more can the people of Queensland take?

Queensland evacuations urged ahead of Cyclone Yasi  [BBC News, 2 Feb]

Australian officals are urging residents in parts of Queensland to flee ahead of the most dangerous storm ever predicted to hit the state.

Cyclone Yasi, a category five storm - the highest alert level - will make landfall on Wednesday night local time (after 1200 GMT).

On one level could help people, but if it was wrong...couples who could have healthy kids might not. Also it might show a strong possibility, but doesn't mean it's a certainty.
Though if you maybe have a history of a particular illness in your family then you could look to see if you're a carrier and might pass on to a child.

So many questions about this sort of stuff, amazing what our DNA can tell us though!

An extremely brave lady but what disgusted me is the way other passersby seemed content to turn a blind eye and let the robbers get on with it.  Did any of them, I wonder, even bother to call the police?

It's not a person being mugged and it's not some little shop that is someones' livelihood, so I understand their lack of care.

Apologies of multiple posting, but also very interesting news:

Martin McGuinnes should have been on Cork crash flight, but changed his plans at the last minute. The Sinn Fein politician had been due to fly on the route from Belfast Airport to Cork to campaign for the upcoming elections but made different arrangements. The Spanish-owned light aircraft was making its third attempt at landing in heavy fog just before 10am when it struck the run way and catapulted into the air.

The billionaires statistic is nonsense, not in its validity but its relevance. About 25-30% of Indians still live below the poverty line, that's the more relevant statistic.

Well, I'm sure we raped their country of more than £1billion in resources under colonial rule, so perhaps it might be best to reciprocate.

I'm sure we'll get something out of it, India is an economy which is growing exponentially, the donators will have this in mind.

Have to smile at your first sentence.  Don't think the British Government has any kind of a conscience in this regard.

I'd really like to know what is going on behind the scenes.  Hate to be picky, but I already have enough trouble with BT's Indian Call Centre etc etc etc ....
