People from all over the world nevermind the UK come to Wimbledon so it's really nothing to do with the English public.

Even the English media seem to be getting more and more behind him every year. I think various misconceptions are slowly starting to disappear.
Littlebuddha, to me you sound like a Scottish lady who is so utterly proud and patriotic when it comes to Andy, you actually just hate seeing the English being able to support him. It wouldn't surprise me if you secretly preferred us English not to appreciate him so you can call him your own and stick your middle finger up at us when he wins Wimbledon.
Just my impression, don't rip my head off because of it.

Nail on the head Mark, embarrassingly patriotic.

No I would appreciate everyone in this country to support him. But I cant see it myself so there will be little change in attitude towards Andy.
You get people like Lloyd be so stupid saying that if Andy was clean shaven to play better. What a bufoon.
When did he ever win anything of consequence ? Everyone likes to take potshots at Andy one day he should tell them all to f--k off. I know I would. Also the attitude of the in the game that he is not of the right
class, so much snobbery. Because he likes football and plays games on his playstation.
Maybe it is time for the LTA to get real. So long as this attitude prevails young kids and their parents will give tennis a miss. Maybe its time we had better facilities in Scotland and our youngsters with talent
could be coached up here. I have no intention of blowing your head off. I said what I wanted to say
I doubt that nothing is going to change in the near future.

Courage isn't absence of fear but mastery of it.

Bit of a howler in there - the quote in the green box is attributed to Andy, but it was actually Jamie who said it.
Also Andy has played in Glasgow, in the tie against Serbia and Montenegro in 2006, but only in the doubles because he was suffering from a stomach virus. Unfortunately it was a bad-tempered performance, and he ended up being fined for swearing.

The issue in Africa is one of population control. I see that the population of Ethiopia at the time of Live Aid was 40m. It's now 100m. Would have made more sense to send over truckloads of condoms, really, rather than tins of beans.
