I'm not impressed by the US - and certain members of the UK government - claiming that North Africa is now the place to look out for al-Qaeda, based solely on one attack by Islamic extremists in Algeria.  More scaremongering, I think.

Let us hop that UK troops are not drawn in to this new problem in North Africa. It is time this government thought about this country first and does not get involved in yet another war.

I couldn't agree with you more. I found that really scary more than the original attempt. I'd never do that. I'd rather hand him to the police without taking matters into more personal level. This always scares me, the violence that we have in us all. Such a horrific video.

I can tell you this, we are heading for the 3rd WW very soon. It's all about power and control. The idea (or the underlying intention) is to create chaos (read war) and then establish order (read control).

I agree.....and we've all been under control for a very long time, without  people realising! It's scary!

 Yes, the loss of both by the US is going to be a big driver. It's infrastructure and social organisation are very 20th  century and that doesn't work anymore. There are fault lines opening all over the place but the military remain supreme. Dangerous days ahead.

Oil is the danger ahead but I'm not concerned about China being the next super power. History shows they will not spread their influence in the same way America has done.

And I know others dismiss it as warmongering but I personally do think Islamic extremism is something that needs our continued attention.
