Didn't he try to close it and his attempts were blocked?

He tried to go through Congress, which was a stupid idea in the first place.
If it was really on his conscience, I'm sure he could have had issued an executive order. Bush wasn't above using that sort of power, but his advisors probably didn't want him to exert his power like that and get vilified by the right even more.

I'm not sure what I expected. Obama was never going to be a liberal.

Now we have McCain on TV criticising Obama for not doing enough to help the rebels in Syria.  Hasn't McCain learnt anything from history?  Meanwhile David Cameron thinks more diplomatic pressure should be put on Assad to bring him to the negotiating table.

Google has just announced Project Loon. They will be providing internet to places where it is lacking using baloons in the stratosphere. The first trial has already begun in New Zealand.

So it turns out NSA is listening to the contents of phone calls without warrants. The lies continue.

I'm disappointed because I like the guy and it's just soooo obvious! Still, he's probably just doing what he's told, like a good little president!

What is funny about this is that, when I was listening to one of the experts the other night about NSA leak, he said "even Obama doesn't believe what he's saying there and it just shows in that conference".

Tommy, I just want to point out that Republican Senators Tom Coburn and James Inhofe voted against aid for Sandy victims. Today they happily receive aid now they need it.

Yep not surprising. Its like this with legislators from both sides. They look out for their own and **** the others.

Must be good for you seeing Obama come under fire from so many of his supporters over handling of NSA leak.

And I have to say, your men Beck and O'Reilly, did a good job reporting it at the time it came out. Not sure of their position now but wouldn't surprise me if they have turned on Snowden like the rest of the US media.

I actually support Obama on the NSA issue. I think he is doing the right thing.

And please don't call Glenn Beck my "man"  Rolling Eyes

I meant to type Beck but I subconsciously merged the names Frown

I thought you would. Bet you're one of those that think he's a traitor. Fact is, it's not safe to be a whistle-blower in America, especially under Obama of all people. You will get tortured like Bradley Manning was.
