It's horrible to think about, R.I.P those 5,000+ that died. Does the new WTC open today?

Looks like the complex is still a work in progress. I took this pic of it in December:

And this is amazing:

It's a beautiful looking building, but there's way too many ghosts.

If you feel as sad as I do about the terrible life and death of Daniel Petza, please sign this petition and please pass it on to your friends. Apparently it is not mandatory for relevant agencies to share concerns, quite shocking.

How many people killed will it take to have control over the amount of guns people have in the USA.I would appear all they are doing is sticking their heads in the sand. Guns are far to easy to access and the gun culture seems to be embedded in their belief in the right to bear arms. There will always be people who hold a grudge and use guns to settle their problems. If something is not done then more people are going to be killed.

I to was very upset about the death of Daniel. I think it terrible that social workers and all the other agency's do not pass information between each other. His school knew he was scavenging the rubbish bins for food. How could they ignore this and do nothing about it. I think if the social work departments had questions about this little boy they should have acted. perhaps  there should be some kind of inter department way to share this information. Children who are thought  to be in danger should be red flagged and the information about this child shared with all the organisations concerned. This type of abuse toward children is becoming more prevalent. It seems this is happening to, too many children are being abused  and nothing is done about it.

^ Agree LLB. Please sign the petition and pass it on.
Clearly all agencies concerned should pool information and pass it on.
I can't believe what the school was at either.

I have done so already. I am so angry about this child more or less being left to die. Anyone who looked at the poor we soul could have seen he was not getting enough to eat and for all the bruises he had on his body. The problem is that too many social workers are not prepared to take action as they might be wrong. I would rather be wrong and just sit there and do nothing.

I've signed it bbh.

I didn't realise it wasn't mandatory for school staff to report. I hope this changes. I've had to report my concerns about a student once a few years ago.

We have some horror stories here too with kids slipping through the net. Awful..

I've signed the petition bbh. Having worked in a number of schools, find it hard to believe that his class teacher didn't raise her/his fears re this little boy.

Thanks so much scot and michelle hug It would be so brilliant if everyone on MW signed. Please PM anyone you think might .
You should get an email thanking you with the details. I'm forwarding this to all my friends. I'm also writing to my MP and Nick Clegg who was interviewed after the trial. I've felt so sad and so powerless over yet another abused child, feel I need to do something, albeit very small.
