Courage doesn't always roar - but wins Wimbledon

The latest figures from London are 7 seriously injured, 76 walking wounded. No fatalities and no injuries are believed to be life threatening. It sounds like a lot of people have been very lucky. The part of the ceiling that collapsed was apparently about 10 square metres. It brought down plaster, wood and masonry on to sections of the audience without any real warning.

It was interesting earlier to hear a theatre critic on the news. Apparently he's been concerned for some time about the state of a lot of London's theatres, some of which, like the Apollo, are over 100 years old. He said a lot of them are in a bad state of repair and are simply not designed for the sorts of productions they are putting on now. A lot of what he had to say was very thought provoking.

Do you believe everything the tabloids tell you? lol  Once again this news first appeared in an American gossip magazine based on the fact that Kate was reportedly seen 'clutching her stomach' at some posh do, and that William was very attentive to her, all of which, if true, means absolutely nothing.  Let's face it, the American are desperate to have her pregnant, such is their obsession with British royalty.

Of course it's perfectly possible that she is expecting baby No.2, and the time gap isn't unusually short, but I'll only believe it when the announcement comes either from the couple or the Palace.

Phil Everly has died at the age of 74. He and his brother Don, hit the rock 'n roll scene with their amazing harmonies in the late 50s and influenced bands like The Beatles and The Beach Boys as well as country and folk singers. There was no one else like them, either then or since! At the age of thirteen, I had their poster on my bedroom wall, along with The Diamonds [Jet Harris and Tony Meehan] and Elvis Presley. RIP Phil......Thanks and Bye Bye Love!

Loved their harmonies Caz., beautiful acapella singing. Though hadn't realised they didn't get on.
Apparently Phil was lifelong smoker and died of a lung disease.

I was sorry to hear of Phil Everly's death. Sir Cliff Richard, my hero, has always credited the Everly's for teaching him how to sing harmonies. He basically listened to their stuff and learned how to do it.

Being brothers must have caused strains at times. I mean, they would have spent a lot of time together working, touring, recording, etc. I'm sure falling out was inevitable. They did make up their differences, which is the most important thing, but their partnership has also left us with a string of memorable, timeless classics.

I bet you'd find them on YouTube Gangsta.......they're definately worth a look! I think 'Bye Bye Love' might have been their first hit and there was one called 'Wake Up Little Susie, Wake Up'! Loads of others too of course!
