I believe we have to keep physically writing, not just to keep it 'alive', but to leave our mark on the world. When I see my grandma/granda's written words, I know they have touched it. They were there, physically, and that means a lot to me.
And ah'll nivver looz ma ackscent, kis ahm an Aiberdeen qwyne, nae maiter far ah am.
An' ma loon kens fit am spickin' aboot in ah, kis he's bin brocht up hearin' it.

Just watched Adele sing Skyfall at the Oscars. Not one of my favourites of hers, but her voice was impeccable and she looked beautiful.
And I'm thrilled Anne Hathaway jsut won for best supporting actress. She was outstanding in Les Mis.

Just watched Barbra Streisand sing "The Way We Were." One of my favourite songs & movies.
Saw her live here a few years ago.
My hubbster bought tickets (as a surprise) for me & my mum to go see her. Although he tried to hide it from me, I found out they were over $300 each. (yes.. I did say $300 each.)
Let's say I was, somewhat.. displeased.
As much as I admire her, I could think of better ways to spend that amount of money than to listen to her for 1.5 hours.

Adele wins for "Skyfall."
All good and well, but I want to see Daniel Craig.

Put this in another thread earlier, but I should have put it here.

Just saw Shirley Bassey sing 'Goldfinger' live on The Oscars.
Hit every note bang-on.
Legend!

Awesome photo of bonny Scotland taken yesterday by Chris Hadfield, A Canadian astronaut currently onboard the ISS International Space Station.
There's more of Scotland and other parts of the world on his twitter if anyone interested:

It's the Isle of Skye.
Decided to post some more because they're just so damned awesome.
The Scottish east coast as-seen from space, Montrose to Peterhead, Aberdeen at the centre.

The ruggedness of Scotland evident in the snowy hills and lochs north of the Firth of Clyde.

Scotland is awesome. I much prefer Mull to Skye, though.
