Yeah I've had a few disasters in the kitchen, thankfully never when cooking for others Smile
...to highlight my obsession I've cooked meals for around 100 odd people (thankfully only one meal)
But I'm very sad like that and have to persuade people to like me by baking for them Smile

That's a LOT of people!  What did you make?

I think cooking for other people is a great pleasure, especially when they enjoy it and are kind enough to express their enjoyment.

I bake for other people too .... quite often single guys!  and even married guys whose wives don't bake/cook.  The chocolate banana recipe I listed here is a favourite of a great friend of mine - he is at some distance at the moment, but sends me little bleating emails from time to time to remind me he will be back .... <giggle>

I bake a lot for my male friends, they're mostly students so I feel the need to look after them.
Most my large amounts of cooking are coz of my church and the student christian union - we do like our food Smile

Actually - on the subject of a cafe - I think there is a market for a really good quality tea shop, in particular offering delicious afternoon teas.

Those are really nice things to do.  I've always found that a gift of home baking is very well received - more so by single guys who very often don't get too many nice things to eat.
