Daniel's Law. « on: April 13, 2014, 11:04 AM »

Good news everyone and many thanks again for your support.
We have achieved a massive breakthrough for Daniel's Law!

In response to a question in Parliament, Secretary of State for Education, Michael Gove, revealed that his team is now actively considering mandatory reporting of child abuse in regulated settings. He said;

"I have had the opportunity, in a different context, to talk to one victim of abuse who, I have to say, made a compelling case. I had hitherto been concerned mandatory reporting might create more work for children’s services departments than it would generate safety for children, but the specific case for reporting in regulated settings is one that we are actively reviewing.”

The case Mr Gove found 'compelling' was in fact made by Tom Perry of the Mandate Now coalition, who are closely aligned to our campaign and have worked with us in bringing this issue into the spotlight.

The petition then rocketed to over 100,000 signatures!

We are at a tipping point and your support has been invaluable to getting here.

Pressure has been mounting for months now from public, professional and political quarters. Please continue to share the petition to ensure we keep up the pressure while the Government carries out its review: www.change.org/DanielsLaw

Many thanks,
